Hunger Games Fangirling

The bestie and I watched Hunger Games and Catching Fire back to back and now, once again, I'm having Peeta withdraws. Real? Or not real? More like, ALL THE FEELS!!!! Mockingjay Part 1 needs to come out soon so I can watch all 3 back to back in preparation for the last part....which I will then dramatically cry because then the Hunger Games will have no more movies. The struggle of being a fangirl, am I right? #TeamKatniss #RealornotReal #PeetaForever....okay, I'm done with my ridiculous hashtags.

So while I patiently wait for Mockingjay to come out, I will be doing my own writing. As per usual. I've been writing a lot of flash fiction lately and some short stories. These are mostly side projects I do as exercises when I need to write something other than Kaddy or Livy. I know, I know, when are their books going to be coming out? Once I can get absolute confirmation, I will post that date all over in big letters announcing the final release day!

Meanwhile, I've baked lots more cookies for no particular reason. I need to either control the cookie baking or start giving them away. Too many cookies for my own good! Hence why I give them  by the container load to the bestie. Best friends could always use more cookies.

Anyway, not much else to report. I brewed some more iced tea the other day so I should be good for the next few days. Jokes, let's be real. I will run out of that stuff in 2 days before I have to make more. So much writing to do and not enough iced tea to keep me motivated.

Onward with writing!

Dance Party with Books!

Via www.paulinaulrich.com

Woot woot! It's no secret I'm a Seahawks fan (not a crazy one, I swear), and it's epic that the Hawks are going back for another Superbowl! Crazy! Everyone was out celebrating and it was totally insane but in the most team spirited way it could be. Go Hawks! Hence why the title of this post is titled Dance Party!

In other news, I've got three books I'm recommending if you're down about reading lately. I certainly can't imagine that anyone's TBR (to be read) is getting low but by chance it is, I highly recommend these three unique reads!

1. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand (she also wrote the story about Seabiscuit). The movie came out on Christmas day and I read this entire one in ONE sitting. This is a 400 page non-fiction story about Louie Zamperini who survived incredible things. It was masterfully written and I couldn't put it down, hence why I was reading it in one sitting. Yes, I also went and saw the movie and surprisingly, the movie was pretty good!

2. Magic for Beginners by Kelly Link. If you're in short story fictional pieces, she's got some wit and unique magical realism stories. So far, The Faery Handbag is my favorite. Totally had me hooked into the story about a village that lives inside a handbag. It sounds weird but it's totally brilliant.

3. ISLANDS by Sara Stamey. If you haven't read this mystery/suspense/romance, then get to it! It was Foreward Book of the Year and let me tell you, the story that is told is incredible. Especially the details. I felt like I was on the adventure! It's about an anthropologist who travels to the Caribbean to uncover the mysterious death of her brother and encounters romance, danger, and many secrets. That's all I'm going to say. It's just too good to give anything away.

What are you waiting for? Get to reading!

Kicking Off 2015 in Style

Via www.paulinaulrich.com

Day 2 of 2015 and it's awesome already. A new year and that means new adventures!

A friend of mine got me an amazing smelling candle but not just any candle, it's one of those wood wick ones. So when I'm writing in the quiet, I can hear it crackle. Ah, I love it. Sets the perfect writing mood! My fingers have been non-stop typing lately which is excellent. I don't think I've been this productive writing wise in so long! Feeling like a champ.

Not only do I have so much in store for writing goals this year, (you know, like releasing two much awaited sequels and a stand alone novel), I also have a few other things in store. Some book signings, Q&A, more blogging, and other fun stuff that I will reveal in due time. Just know that it's going to be an EPIC year!

I was stoked to say goodbye to 2014--I was done with that bullshit. 2014 had lots of great times but there were of course, the shitty times too. I'd say summed up, 2014 was a solid year of okay-ness. I know my 2015 is going to be rock solid awesomeness! :D

One of the first things I'm going to be doing is getting my newsletter stuff finalized so you all can sign up for exclusive content, news, and of course, writing tips. Maybe I'll throw in some nifty snack ideas too. Once I get that up, you'll see it on my site so be on the lookout! And if you're not on the lookout, then I'll make a button here too you can click.

Meanwhile, I'm going back to writing. Some epic stuff is happening in CHANCES with Kaddy. It's been awhile since I've had a teaser. Maybe that will be my next post....
