GTFO & Other News

I've realized that I haven't been online as much lately. No thanks to me not actively having internet for about a week and a half and that I've been working and writing up a storm. Or at least attempting to when I'm not currently obsessively watching the Walking Dead. I'm telling you, if you haven't watched this show and you like zombies, WATCH THIS SHOW! Seriously. I am hooked and the ironic thing is that I'm not even into zombies that much. But I love the Walking Dead!

Alright, as awesome and amazing the Walking Dead is, that is not what I came to post about today. A few things to point out:

The world didn't end. Wow. No surprise there. Guess what I did yesterday? I woke up, ate breakfast, showered, cleaned the house, wrote a little bit, watched some Walking Dead, wrote some more, and made cookies with some friends. Yep. A typical day for me on a typical day of the month. No zombies, no explosions, no nothing. Yay. We're all still alive. Everyone can calm the heck down now.

There is a windstorm going on outside my house. Just thought I would share that too.

Now moving onto some other things that I would like to point out.

Sometimes there are people in life that you have to say GTFO to. (For those who are not up on hip language, GTFO=Get the F*ck Out) Like seriously. I don't intend this blog to be rambly but I just want to be real for minute.

*Warning. This blog post may contain some really colorful words.*

Not sure if it's just me but lately I've run into some real assholes and I'm like what the hell? This is how things work for me: if you're nice to me, I'm nice to you. Yes, it's really that easy and yes, it's not freaking rocket science. Now if you're one of those people who sits up on a freaking pedastal like you're the best damn thing to happen to the world I am going to say this to you:

GTFO.

I don't have a tolerance for rude and selfish people. Period. I don't care who you are, you're rude once to me, its done. It's over. Don't think being nice to me later is going to get you anywhere.

Where is this all stemming from? Allow me to explain. There was a day in my past, okay actually a lot of days, when I was younger when there were people who said to me I was never going to be anything. They mocked me, made fun of me, and yeah, well I'm sure you get the picture. Now its years later and suddenly, these said people are all about being friends with me.

GTFO.

I really like how karma works because I sit back and I laugh. It's honestly really enlightening to watch how some people come out of the woodwork once you've claimed success for yourself. Honestly, I am sitting here in disbelief that they expect me to just act like we're buddy buddy. No. We are not friends nor will we be.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm all about making new friends and meeting new people but follow the golden rule: treat others how you want to be treated. Now for my input on that rule: follow it and also wait for karma to come back and get those people who said you couldn't do it. Seriously, just plaster that smile on your face no matter how hard it may seem and one day you'll prove them wrong.

Now I'm probably going to get a little inspirational on here but as corny as it sounds, its true. Follow your dreams, trust your heart, but keep your head because your head is logical. Despite what people may tell you, you can do it. Be like Harry Potter (who is freaking awesome and if you don't like Harry Potter, we might not be able to be friends.) and be a force of good in the face of adversity. Fight for the things you want and never, ever, ever (as Taylor Swift would sing) give up. There is nothing worth throwing your dreams away for.

Okay, my sappy inspirational speech is over. The ones who've been there from the start are the ones who are going to be there at the end. Trust me. I know. So when people want to be assholes, just tell them:

GTFO. (Well, in more or less words.)

Moving on, in other news, Fair Feathered is now on the NOOK!!!!! FINALLY!!!! Holy chips and guacamole (as Gracie would say if you've read Fair Feathered) it only took forever to get it out but it's finally out so Nook users everywhere, you can unite with your love for books and read the continued adventures of Livy and Gregory! BAM! Here is the link to the Nook Store! Go check it outttttt! It's awesome. :-)

Alsooooooo! Chosen is underway and I can't wait to really get this one written. I've had to go back a few times to re-write some chapters because I'm OCD like that but it only makes the chapters better. Alright, now I am off going to go eat some food, write some more, and still write some more. Also I am going to put socks on because my feet are cold.

The Knight's Ill-Thought Bargain Cover Reveal!

Well good morning/afternoon to you all! Today I have something exciting to share with you because my friend Rebecca Rynecki's newest book cover is here!! I definitely read and loved the first book, The Secret World of Alaina Downs and I can't wait to read the sequel!! Ahhhh!

The Secret World of Alaina Downs: When Alaina stumbles into a world that she only thought existed in her mind, she is understandably a little bit freaked out. Who wouldn't be? Characters that she had written down years ago are walking, and talking, and telling her that she is the only one who can save the princess and the kingdom of Isleen. Um...okay. As she travels down to the southern kingdom with Sir Gabriel, a really hot knight, she falls off horses, has an interaction with an evil witch, gets attacked by a sea creature, and even falls from lust into love.

This book was so great and full of humor! I wrote up a review on it so check it out! Now, let's get the drum roll started! Because the second book cover is here!!

The Knight's Ill-Thought Bargain: Set two years after The Secret World of Alaina Downs ends, Alaina and Gabriel are living in London. Forty years have gone by in Isleen. The King is dead, the Queen's powers are weakened and an evil witch is determined to finish her quest. Gabriel finds that the bargain he made to follow Alaina to her world has severe consequences, and Alaina has to save Isleen...again. Oh, yeah, and sexy times abound.

Eeeeeepppppp! There it is! Holy chips and guacamole! I can't wait to read the sequel becacuse uh hello, it's going to be awesome! I mean, what's not to love about a sexy knight swooping in to the rescue you while also providing quick-witted humor? The sequel is expected to release in February 2013!

So many good books are coming! I can't wait!

Oh Hello December

I don't even know where to start. How the heck has Fair Feathered been out for 2 weeks already?! Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to everyone and I hope you all survived Black Friday if you dared to even exit the safety of your home. Me? Well, I was on the couch with a few good books that I've been needing to read for awhile. My TBR (to-be-read) list has grown so drastically so that I fear if I don't start reading some of it now, the list will never ever end.

Want to know what I read? Well, for starters I read Miss Me Not by the always lovely Tiffany King and it was so good! The story was so heartfelt and just true to what some high schoolers may think when it concerns suicide. I highly recommend this story if you're looking for a nice change of pace from the usual contemporary stuff that's out there now.

As for what I've been doing other than reading...well, as usual I've been writing my brains out. I am working on my newest series AND working on the final Flightless Bird series installment which is titled, in case any of your forgot, Timeless Sky. You think writing two gigantic books at the same time is easy? No. No it is not. How do I do it? I think I no longer sleep...yeah...I think that's my secret. Either that or I have no social life besides my cat who has comfortably found himself a nice place to lay under the christmas tree. My stocking that hangs over my fake "fireplace" aka my heater, and my stocking is also a cat. It has a little cat face on it and everything. You can tell my cat and I go all out for the holidays, cat style. I also painted this really cute ceramic reindeer a few weeks back and he conveniently sits right next to the TV. That's pretty much as far as decorations go for me so far. I mean, actually digging out the box of christmas stuff is a lot of work and I'm lazy...really lazy sometimes. Although, my roommate and I have been wanting to put some lights up. Ya know, glamorize the place or something.

Speaking of roommate...she totally started watching season 1 of the Walking Dead WITHOUT ME! I actually think she is watching it right now as I type this. Hmm...I'll have to go spy on her to see if my hunches are correct. If they are, I am going to...probably write her a note, fold it into a paper plane and fly it at her like a secret attack. She'll never see it coming. Muhahaha! *insert really cheesy laugh here* Or I'll just go bother her and start talking about the weather or something not even relevant to anything. That's just how we roll most days: totally random.

Anywho, its December now. I feel like the time flies right on by! But on a positive note, thank you so much for all the positive feedback that has been coming in since the release of Fair Feathered! I know this one took me so long to write and I know most of you probably read it in like a day and are already wanting to read the next one. Like I always say, if it were possible for me to have the books out faster, I would totally do that! I'm working with the time I have now because not sleeping isn't my secret, I like my sleep. In fact, I need my sleep!

Thank you to all of you who came to the Fair Feathered release partay hosted by the ever amazing Michelle Nicole and once again, congrats to Kyra P who won the giveaway! The party was awesome. Especially with the Fair Feathered playlist Michelle had jamming on her blog!

Now I off to return to my writing cave which is now full of iced tea and freshly popped kettle corn. Heck yeah for writing in style!
